Cost-Effective:

  • Less ultrasound/rectal examinations
  • Cross coverings eliminated
  • Post servicing ovulation checks are no longer required

No Refractiveness:

Deslorelin is a synthetic, much smaller molecule than hCG. The product is non-immunogenic thus no antibodies are developed. This can happen with use of hCG as it is a foreign material retrieved from urine of pregnant women. Repetitive dosing of hCG has been shown to result in antibody formation (Roser et al, 1979), "we do not recommend use of hCG in successive cycles" (McKinnon, 1996)

  • Multiple administration in the same breeding season reliably induces ovulation

Easy to Use:

  • Subcutaneous implant placed in the neck
  • Preloaded in a disposable syringe
  • No need for removal
  • Administered when dominant follicle is >30 mm diameter
  • Simple to administer >90% of treated mares ovulate within 36-48 hours
  • No antibody production
  • Repeated use does not diminish its effectiveness
  • Synthetic - no viral contamination
  • No deleterious effects on fertility of mares
  • No deleterious effects on embryonic or foal viability
